Crap!
Kevin took the kidlets to their final playgroup of the summer(Caleigh's last one ever, as she starts JK in the fall), and today was a picnic at a local park. She and some of the other kids were running around the tennis court, having a great time, until Kevin heard Caleigh scream and start crying. Turns out she'd been stung by a wasp that was protecting a small nest it was building inside the post for the net on the tennis court, and then 2 other kids ended up getting stung as well. Unfortunately(and fortunately, too) we've found out she's allergic to wasp stings from the looks of things. She got stung on her pinkie finger, and her whole hand and part of her arm almost to her elbow was all red and HOT, and puffy. We're headed to the doctor's tomorrow to see what the next step is, but you can bet that we'll be carrying Benadryl with us whenever we go anywhere there might be wasps that she could run afoul of. At least it happened here, in the city and not at the cabin, on an extremity of her body, and not too serious to need to go to the hospital.
